    The essentials in 30 seconds

Dénichéo lets its members rate the profile they have exchanged messages with. Those ratings are online reviews within the meaning of article L. 111-7-2 of the French Consumer Code. This section sets out all the information required by articles D. 111-16 to D. 111-19 of that Code. The key point is that reviews are not checked in any way before they go live.

    • Reviews are not checked before publication: they appear immediately, with no human or automated review of their content.
    • Only a member who has actually exchanged messages with the profile may rate it, once per conversation.
    • No review is paid for, solicited in exchange for a benefit, or obtained against any consideration.
    • The rated profile has a public right of reply on every review received; authors may edit or delete their own review at any time.

    Article 1

    Purpose and definition

Members may award another member a rating from 1 to 5 stars, optionally with a free-text comment. Those contributions are online reviews within the meaning of article D. 111-16 of the French Consumer Code.

This section is the dedicated, easily accessible section required by article D. 111-18 of that Code, and is linked from every place where reviews are displayed.

    Article 2

    Who may leave a review

Leaving a review requires an authenticated Dénichéo account and an actual exchange with the profile concerned, evidenced by a conversation opened through the platform's messaging about a listing.

Both participants must have sent at least one message. This condition is enforced server-side on every submission. Each member may leave only one review per conversation, and nobody may rate their own profile.

Good to knowDénichéo does not verify that a transaction actually took place: the platform connects members and does not take part in the sale itself. The messaging exchange is therefore the only proof of experience required.
    Article 3

    No checking of reviews

In accordance with article D. 111-18, 1° of the French Consumer Code, Dénichéo expressly informs its users that reviews published on the platform are NOT CHECKED before going live.

There is no human review, no automated content filtering, no plausibility analysis and no prior validation. A review is published as soon as its author submits it and becomes immediately visible to everyone.

The only checks applied concern form and the right to leave a review: rating within the 1 to 5 scale, maximum comment length, and the eligibility conditions above. Nothing is checked as to the substance, accuracy, sincerity or relevance of the statement.

Consequently, Dénichéo warrants neither the accuracy, nor the sincerity, nor the impartiality of published reviews. Each review is the sole responsibility of its author.

Worth notingBecause no prior check is carried out, a review may be inaccurate, biased or malicious. Readers are invited to weigh reviews against their number and age, and to report any manifestly unlawful content.
    Article 4

    Publication time and retention period

The maximum publication time is immediate: nothing stands between the author submitting the form and the review being displayed publicly.

A published review is kept and displayed for thirty-six (36) months from its publication date, after which it is automatically deleted and stops counting towards the profile's rating. Editing a review does not extend that period.

    Article 5

Information displayed next to each review

In accordance with article D. 111-17 of the French Consumer Code, every display location shows, immediately next to the reviews:

    • the fact that reviews are not checked before publication
    • the publication date of each review and the date of the consumer experience it relates to
    • where applicable, the date the review was last edited by its author
    • the criterion used to order the displayed reviews
    • the absence of any consideration given in exchange for a review
    Article 6

    Editing or deleting your review

Authors may edit the rating and comment of their review, or delete it entirely, at any time and without giving a reason, from the “My reviews” section of their account area.

An edit is publicly flagged with its date, next to the original publication date. A deletion immediately removes the review from all public surfaces and stops it counting towards the profile's rating.

    Article 7

The rated profile's right of reply

In accordance with article D. 111-18, 6° of the French Consumer Code, a rated profile may publish a public reply under each review received, from the “My reviews” section of their account area.

The reply is displayed immediately under the review, with its publication date. It is subject to no time limit or condition, and changes neither the rating awarded, nor the ordering of the review, nor the profile's overall rating.

    Article 8

Contacting the author of a review

In accordance with article D. 111-18, 2° of the French Consumer Code, a rated profile may contact the author of a review. Since a review can only follow a conversation, that conversation remains open in the platform's messaging and allows a direct, private exchange.

Dénichéo discloses no personal contact details of a review's author outside that messaging.

    Article 9

Grounds for refusing publication and for removal

No review is refused before publication, since no prior check is carried out. A submission can only fail on formal or eligibility grounds: rating outside the 1 to 5 scale, comment exceeding the maximum length, no conversation with the profile concerned, a one-sided exchange, or a review already left for the same conversation.

Once published, a review may only be removed by Dénichéo in the following cases:

    • deletion by its author, at their sole initiative
    • manifestly unlawful content within the meaning of French digital economy law, brought to the publisher's attention through a report
    • enforcement of a court decision or an order from a competent authority
    • expiry of the thirty-six (36) month retention period
Good to knowAny review may be reported from the listing page or the profile page concerned. A report triggers no automatic removal: it prompts a review by the publisher against the cases listed above only.
    Article 10

    No consideration given

In accordance with article D. 111-19 of the French Consumer Code, Dénichéo states that no consideration of any kind is given in exchange for leaving a review: no payment, no virtual credit, no discount, no visibility benefit and no prize.

Dénichéo does not solicit favourable reviews and exerts no influence over the content of the reviews left.

    Article 11

    Ordering of displayed reviews

In accordance with article D. 111-17, 3° of the French Consumer Code, the ordering criterion is stated next to the reviews: they are displayed in reverse chronological order, newest first.

No other criterion affects that order. In particular, a review is never promoted or demoted based on the rating it awards, the length of its comment, or the identity of its author or of the profile concerned.

    Article 12

    How reviews affect listing prominence

Reviews received by a profile feed an internal trust score, alongside other account signals: email verification, profile verification, account age, strong authentication, an active professional subscription, and any sanctions.

That score affects the order in which listings are displayed, within a single freshness tier: listings published on the same day are ranked by the trust of the profile publishing them. A listing published on an earlier day can never be placed ahead of a more recent one, whatever its author's score.

To limit the effect of an isolated review, the rating used is smoothed: a profile with few reviews stays close to a reference average, and a real volume of reviews is needed to move the score significantly. The numeric score is not made public.

    Article 13

    Personal data and complaints

A review is published under its author's display name, together with their role in the exchange (buyer or advertiser). No other personal data of the author is made public. Authors are asked not to include in their comment any data identifying a third party.

Any complaint relating to a review may be sent to [email protected]. A reply is provided within a reasonable time.
